Ra, Seung, AIA, Associate Professor

Seung Ra is an Associate Professor at Oklahoma State University School of Architecture and a licensed architect in the State of Oklahoma. He taught at the New York Institute of Technology and as an invited critic at the University of Oklahoma and the University of Nebraska. Professor Ra holds a post-professional Masters degree from Columbia University and a Bachelor of Architecture from Oklahoma State University.

His current research and design practice focuses on culture, technology, and progressive approaches to the interdisciplinary study of architecture and urbanism. He was awarded the inaugural Karin & Robert Sternberg Award and a Big12 Faculty Fellowship, through which he was invited to the University of Nebraska and the University of Texas at Austin. He has presented and exhibited his research and theoretical works throughout the U.S., Germany, Singapore, China, Brazil, and Spain. Most recently, he presented research papers at the ACSA (Association of Collegiate Schools of Architecture) international conferences at Barcelona, Spain and Seoul, Korea. He served on the 2012 ACSA Steel Competition Jury in Washington D.C., and on the paper review committees for the ACADIA international conferences and ACSA conferences.

Prior to his teaching and research at OSU, he worked on a wide range of international projects at Studio Daniel Libeskind, Friedrich St.Florian Architects, and Kohn Pederson Fox.
